New funding for 22 organizations working to build a thriving, unified Memphis

The grant funding is as a result of the foundation’s Q2 grant cycle.

Grants are made in four impact areas: education; arts and culture; neighborhoods and public spaces; and leadership and civic pride. All investments are designed to advance three sets of outcomes around access and opportunity, connectivity and vibrancy and visionary leadership.

“We believe deeply in the future of Memphis. We’re proud to support transformational work that helps to make Memphis a more vibrant, equitable and livable city.”

-Barbara Hyde, Chair and CEO of Hyde Family Foundation

This latest commitment brings Hyde Family Foundation’s total investment in Memphis to more than $250 million since its founding in 1992, demonstrating its enduring commitment to creating a better Memphis. Of the 22 grantees, 13 are renewals, while nine represent new partners or new initiatives with existing partners — bringing the Foundation’s network of strategic grantees to more than 100.

These investments reflect the Foundation’s strategic focus on its four key impact areas and highlight how grantee partners are putting that vision into action across the city. The below grantees include organizations working to close the educational achievement gap; to build a vibrant arts ecosystem; to create high-quality parks, trails and neighborhoods; to grow and support the next generation of Memphis leaders; and to improve the Memphis narrative.
