Standing Together to Meet Memphis’ Most Urgent Needs
As of November 1st, 167,000 Memphis and Shelby County residents’ supplemental food benefits (SNAP) will be suspended due to the federal government shutdown. Hyde Family Foundation is supporting MemphisCares, a new community fund launched by United Way of the Mid-South, the Community Foundation of Greater Memphis, and the City of Memphis to assist families experiencing food insecurity.
When families go hungry, Memphis cannot thrive. We’re proud to be early supporters of this collaborative effort. Working alongside the City of Memphis, United Way, the Community Foundation, and supporters including the Smith family, FedEx, and State Rep. Justin Pearson, we are committed to helping our neighbors through this critical time.
“Memphis cannot succeed if the basic needs of Memphians are not met. In this extraordinary moment, we’re proud to stand with the City of Memphis and our partners to ensure every family has the opportunity—and the nourishment—they need to thrive.”
- Barbara Hyde, Chair and CEO, Hyde Family Foundation
Together, we are working for a stronger, more unified Memphis for all.
