Memphis Symphony to do free program Sunday

NewsOK.com - The Memphis Symphony Orchestra presents the first in a series of free community programs Sunday.

"Opus One Connections" featuring Latin-jazz singer Marcela Pinilla will be performed at the Hickory Ridge Mall. A news release from the symphony said the program "combines musical experiences with related engaging activities in a family-friendly setting."

The other free events will be Feb. 19 and Feb. 26 at the same location. Those will feature an introduction to chamber music and the Big Band performing traditional and Latin repertoire.

Ryan Fleur, orchestra president and CEO, said the events are a way for the orchestra to reach a wider audience.
