Shelby Co. Reviewing Plan for Bikes, Pedestrians

The Daily News -

Shelby County officials are reviewing the master plan for bicycle lanes and pedestrian routes in neighborhoods.

It's been almost six years since the plan was updated. The Memphis Metropolitan Planning Organization will have three meetings to study the plan, beginning next Wednesday.

Citizens in Shelby County and elsewhere are being urged to use alternative forms of transportation to reduce fuel consumption and pollution and get some exercise.

Suggestions from citizens are being solicited. Officials said the routes would extend to western Fayette County and northern Desoto County in Mississippi.
